Building a new home in Craigieburn VIC

Craigieburn is no longer a frontier suburb. Aston has sold out, Highlands is well advanced and Aitken Hill is still in planning, so new work here is the later stages of existing estates and infill rather than a fresh release front. The findings we record on those builds are consistent: bracing cut through by a following trade, vapour barrier missing in sections, floor joists short of fixings. All of it is cheap to correct at the right stage and permanent afterwards.

FAQ

Building a new home in Craigieburn VIC: common questions

How many stages are worth booking?

Slab, frame and pre-handover as a minimum. Add lock-up in Craigieburn specifically, because that is the stage where cut bracing gets found and it is the one item that never resurfaces later.

Can the builder refuse my inspector?

No standard Victorian domestic building contract gives them that right, and it is your property. Supervisors across Highlands and Montview deal with independent inspectors as a matter of routine.

How far in advance is best to call?

A day or two works and more is better. The exception is the slab, where we need to know as soon as a pour date exists rather than once it is locked in.
